Who I am

I made my first blade back in 1981 when I was 15 years old, after watching one of the dumbest movies ever made: "The Sword and the Sorcerer". I thought the sword in that movie was absolutely amazing, and I decided to make it. There was no internet at that time, so I went to the library and devoured anything I could find on metallurgy and blade making. There wasn't much out there back then, but I learned what I could about forging and heat treating. I took some old leaf springs and beat them into shape and welded them together to get the basic shape of the iconic sword from that movie (minus the rocket propelled blades of course). I then proceeded beat the heck out of it chopping on trees and anything else destructible until it was so beat up I couldn't fix it anymore. That's when the passion was born. Blademaking went on hold until I retired from the Air Force in 2007. Since then, it has been my passion to get back into knife making and when I found out about the VR&E program for disabled vets I applied. It took a while, but I was approved and am now starting up my shop to make knives, swords, axes, and anything else I can.

My Craft

I make Hand-forged blades from reclaimed steel, each telling its own story. I use reclaimed steel because my shop mantra is "Old does not mean useless"
